Macdoff Oghenejabo Okah, 46, of Silver Spring, pleaded guilty Thursday, June 30 to sexually assaulting an involuntarily admitted patient(Victim A) at Adventist Healthcare Behavioral Health in Feb. 2018, according to Montgomery County officials.
Once admitted, Okah forced Victim A into vaginal intercourse in her room. Okah was found guilty of assaulting a second patient(Victim B) in June 2019, Wednesday, June 19, police said.
After Victim B was involuntarily committed, Okah came into her room and kissed her on the mouth and breast while pressing his genitals against her buttocks. Okah's DNA was later found on the areas he kissed, authorities said.
“This defendant abused his position of trust and authority over the victims, preying on them while they were in a vulnerable state. It took courage for the victims to come forward and that bravery will help to prevent further abuse. We look forward to a lengthy prison sentence in this matter,” said State’s Attorney John McCarthy.
Adventist Healthcare Behavioral Health is located in the 14900 block of Broschart Road. Okah was employed as a psychiatric technician there from 2016 until his termination in 2019.
